Botriver Estuary Breach

BREACH! Following a week of heavy rain, the Botriver Estuary mouth finally breached on 31 May 2023.

It was a dramatic event where massive amounts of water drained from the estuary in a matter of hours.

The following morning the birds capitalized on fish stranded in shallow pools.

We are excited to follow how things change around the estuary in the next couple of weeks.
